On behalf of the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce, it is our pleasure to introduce you to our community through the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce website and to say what an honor it would be to have you visit with us.

Whether you are currently a resident of Upson County, thinking of relocating here, or just visiting for the day, you'll see through our website that we have truly earned the title of "America's Hometown™".

Surrounded by Atlanta, Macon and Columbus, Upson County is conveniently located near larger metropolitan areas while still offering the comforts of small town living.  While visiting Upson County enjoy some of our rich history such as the PettiGrew-White-Stamps House, one of Thomaston's oldest homes, or the Frances Walker House, an authentic "shotgun" home filled with African-American memorabilia. Upson County, features a turn-of-the-century courthouse and outdoor recreation opportunities including two 18-hole golf courses and an agri-education experience through The Rock Ranch, owned by Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy.

Take a walk through the Auchumpkee Creek Covered Bridge, or enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer by canoeing, kayaking, fly-fishing or hiking at Sprewell Bluff State Park located on the free-flowing Flint River. For a more daring adventure, soar through the air with our local Skydive Atlanta or visit Camp Thunder Reservation for mountain biking or rock climbing.

A great location offering recreation, affordable housing options, impressive educational opportunities, and various career opportunities, helps to make Upson County an attractive choice for visitors thinking of relocating. Our community offers the best in small-town living, something more and more people consider imperative in their residency requirements.
