Two tons of chitlin's are sold and consumed at the Hoedown annually. The annual
Hoedown draws crowds from throughout Central Georgia and visitors from across
the south with a parade, street dance, arts & crafts displays, and other
activities. The senior citizens of the City of Yatesville, who host

Veterans Day Recognition |

This salute to war veterans from
throughout Thomaston and Upson County is held at the 11th hour on
the 11th day of the 11th month and includes a moving
pre-program concert of patriotic music, the display of colors by the NJROTC
unit of Upson-Lee High School and the reading of patriotic writings and
speeches. The laying of wreaths on war monuments and the playing of “Taps”
climax this annual recognition. Held on Thomaston’s historic Courthouse
Square. |
